Sarnia Walking Club 3 miles road walk
Lancresse to Bulwer Avenue, Guernsey

Thomson Walks to Victory

Guernsey`s walkers turned the clock back and returned to the 3 miles distance for the first time since 2003. The point to point race between Lancresse and Bulwer Avenue was won convincingly by Carl Thomson in 22.33. This was a 26 seconds improvement on the Guernsey M40 best held by Mick Elliott.
Jason Le Noury finished second in 23.49, which indicates a big improvement is due in his next 5 kilometres walk, which is only slightly further than the 3 miles distance and around 50 seconds worth on the watch.
A close race for third was won by Stuart Le Noury, only two seconds ahead of fourth man Phil Lockwood. Mick Le Sauvage in 7th broke the old M65 best, whilst Rose Drückes set a Guernsey Womens W60 best. Newcomers Jane Rowlinson and Kay Coulson were second and third women home.
The next walk is on Sunday October 12th at Footes Lane. It is a Pace Judgement Challenge over 4 x 800 metres. Start time is 9.00 am. Details from Jayne Le Noury Tel 246865.
