National 10 miles Road Walking Championship

Third Team Place for Sarnia Walking Club Trio
Carl Thomson, Jason Le Noury and Phil Lockwood representing the Sarnia Walking Club took third place in the team placings in the National 10 miles Road Walking Championships, held at Picketts Lock, England.
Carl Thomson came home in 6th place in 78.30, taking 18 seconds off his previous best time. He led the Sarnia team home as Steyning AC walkers packed behind him, to give them the Team Championship.
In their first National Championships, Jason Le Noury crossed the line in 85.04 in 11th place with Phil Lockwood 17th in 92.12.img_3238 (below)
Both walkers coming through in the second half of the race. Stalwart Kevin Le Noury finished 35th in 109.26.
Thomson`s next off island event is next month where he takes part in the 20 kms walk in Lugano, Switzerland. He will be hoping to improve on his 99.10 Personal Best time and move closer to the 93 minutes required to have a chance of selection for Guernsey for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
