  1. What an awesome race. It is so nice to search on here and find other “mad” race walkers.

Keep up the walking and keep smiling.

    • Hi Nyle,
walkers of the world unite! Have had a quick look at your blog, will read more soon. I know NZ is a big place but do you know of Mike Parker (RW Auckland) and Kevin Taylor, who walked in Commonwealth Games in 1982? Believe they are still involved in racewalking. Had the privelege of meeting and racing against them in Australia all those years ago.
      Best wishes and good walking.

      • Hi Rob,
I had the pleasure of traveling from Aussie to NZ with Kevin and I have just recently met Mike Parker (I think he is now the president of Race Walking NZ) I am just a newbie to all this (3 years now) but have found the race walkers to be the friendliest group of athletes I have ever competed with. I am loving competing in Masters events and seek out as many as I can afford to get to. I am off to the World Masters Games in Sydney this year and am so excited about it. I look forward to following your blog and your many races. Keep up the walking and the smiling. Cheers Nyle
