  1. I love these old photos. I have sent it on to Mike Parker. My coach chuckled as he knows Kevin Taylor and has raced against them both too.

    • Glad you liked them, I love the old nostalgic photos as well, of race walking anywhere. Have just added a few more from same race with Mike Parker and Kevin Taylor in.
I usually add some when we do not have a race to report on. These photos were taken by Guernsey Sports editor John Le Poidevin, who joined the team for the duration of the Games.

  2. These pictures are great. A shame I wasn’t able to participate in a race this year.

  3. Do you have any more old photos of Kevin Taylor?

    • Hi Brad
Kevin gets a mention on the site in my perspective of the race.https://sarnia.wordpress.com/2010/10/02/commonwealth-games-1982/
      Another photo online at https://sarnia.wordpress.com/2009/10/22/more-pictures-brisbane-1982/
I have a few more I think taken on the start line. Will have a look for them at some point. All taken by our Guernsey Press man at the Games.
Have also mailed you some taken at a warm up 10kms track walk in Brisbane, taken by Murray Lambden who raced for the Isle of Man.
Let me know if you get them. I remember kevin from all those years ago.
There is a video of the race. Go to the links page on this site and down to 1982 Commonwealth Games. Its in 2 parts, mainly features me as Guernsey manager took the film.
