Personal bests for two in Philadelphia Cup
A personal best time by Phil Lockwood (photo left Dorey and Lockwood), in chasing down his team mate Dave Dorey in the final straight, was his reward as he crossed the line first in the Philadelphia Cup handicap walk. His actual time of 7.15 was a two second improvement on his old time. Their first and second placings were unbeatable, enabling them to take the Cup.
Back in fifth place, the last man to start Jason Le Noury also beat his previous best time, edging closer to a seven minute mile with a 7.04 clocking. Stuart le Noury with a 7.12 clocking was the second fastest walker, with his team mate Carol Bates having a good race to give them second spot in the team event.
The next walk is on Sunday April 25th at Delancey Park. The start time is 9.30 am for the third race in the Yorkshire Guernsey Championships over 10 kilometres. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
