Yorkshire Guernsey Championship 6
15 kilometres road walk
Pleinmont to Les Amarreurs

Phil Lockwood claimed his third win in the Yorkshire Guernsey Championship Series, with a convincing victory over second placed walker Stuart Le Noury (pictured left). Lockwood crossed the line in 1.24.27, over two and a half minutes quicker than his previous best time. Le Noury`s 1.30.30 was better than his previous couple of 15 kms walks by just under two minutes, but down on his early 2007 best of 87.34. Phil Lockwood now leads the Championship, but with two races to be discarded in the ten race series, either of the Le Noury boys could get the better of him by the end of the season.
Jayne Le Noury walked well to finish in 1.54.29, a week after walking the 40 miles Itex walk, now sharing the lead in the womens standings with Carol Bates.
The first two over the line, even with Lockwood recording a new PB time, still found themselves headed in the Jubilee Tankard Handicap standings held in conjunction. Mick Le Sauvage took the honours, narrowly ahead of Kevin Le Noury and Jayne Le Noury
The next walk is on Sunday June 27th at Footes Lane. The distance is 3 kilometres, starting at 9.30 am. It is the 7th walk in the Championship series. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
