Championship 7 plus Des Francis

Filed under: 3 kilometres, Phil Lockwood, Stuart Le Noury — sarnia @ 10:43 pm

Former Sarnia Walking Club member Des Francis, who started his race walking whilst working in Guernsey around five years ago, but has since returned home to the south west of England, turned his attention to the recent Isle of Man Parish Walk over a distance of 85 miles. Walkers can either complete the whole distance or “retire” at the various Churches en route. Des managed to get to the Andreas area in 13 hours 12.05, a distance of 55.5 miles…………..a great first attempt!
Des is pictured in the Guernsey 19.4 miles Church to Church walk in 2007, walking the final few yards.
