Yorkshire Guernsey Championship Race 8
3 kilometres road walk

Jason Le Noury eased to victory in race eight in the Yorkshire Guernsey Championships over a distance of three kilometres. Championship leader Phil Lockwood held his ground early on, but had to give way to his younger opponent as he finished twenty seconds behind Le Noury`s winning time of 14.24.
Stuart Le Noury in third place was a further thirty seven seconds behind.
Rob Elliott edged out Terry Bates in the final 50 metres to get fourth spot. An isloated Kevin Le Noury finished sixth, with Dave Dorey finishing six seconds up on Mick Le Sauvage, who were close together throughout the race.
In the womens Championship, Carol Bates, walking well finished in just under twenty one minutes, well ahead of Jayne Le Noury who was hamperd by hamstring problems during the race.Third woman home was Kay Coulson.

The next walk is the ninth in the Championship series over a distance of 20 kilometres. The start and finish is at Quayside, South Side on Sunday July 18th. Start time is at 8.30am. There is an option of walking over a shorter distance at the same time, either 5 or 10 kilometres. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
