Terry Bates (pictured in recent road 3 kms) opened up the seven race Bob Wright  Handicap Series with a close win over Mick Le Sauvage.  Le Sauvage equalled his Guernsey age best time as he in turn finished just ahead of third walker home Carol Bates, who was close to her best time for the year. Jason Le Noury, back in fourth place recorded 14.30 to walk the fastest time of the day, ahead of Phil Lockwood`s 14.52.
The next walk is on Sunday September 26th at Les Amarreurs, Vale. There will be a 3 kilometres walk for women starting at 9.30 am, followed by a 10 kilometres for men at 10.00 am. These races will give a chance to any Guernsey walker to secure a qualifying time for next years Island Games. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
