5,000 metres track walk
Osmond Priaulx, Guernsey

The crisp, windless morning that greeted the walkers was a lot better than expected after the snow and ice of the day before. Race winner Stuart Le Noury, celebrating his birthday of a few days ago, was content to stay on leader Phil Lockwoods shoulder for the first three kilometres, before easing away to cross the line in 25.27. Lockwood finished six seconds later and well ahead of third placed Terry Bates.
Carol Bates (pictured earlier this year) was the quickest of the women with a 35.03 clocking, eleven seconds up on Jayne Le Noury, with Rose Druckes in third. The next walk is on Sunday December 5th at Pleinmont at 9.30 am. The distance is two kilometres and is the fourth race in the Bob Wright Handicap Series. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
