3 kilometres road walk at Les Amarreurs, Guernsey
Dave Dorey, one of Guernseys 1970 Commonwealth Games walkers at 20 miles, (pictured at end of Church Walk in 1977) celebrated his recent 64th birthday with a win, when crossing the line first in the latest race in the Bob Wright Handicap Series. Recording an actual time of 19.25, he kept second man home Phil Lockwood at bay by nine seconds. Seven seconds after this Stuart Le Noury crossed the line in third place. Stuart`s actual time of 14.26 was the fastest time of the day, followed by Lockwoods 14.34. Fastest woman of the day was Jayne Le Noury in 5th place in the handicap, with an actual time of 20.36, two seconds up on Carol Bates time of 20.38.
Phil Lockwood still leads the Series from Stuart Le Noury with two more races to go.
The next walk is on Sunday January 23rd at 9.00 am. The start is at Albecq finishing 10 miles later at the White Rock. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
