Sarnia Walking Club
5 miles road walk
La Passee to North Side, Guernsey

Personal Best for Winner

Race winner Stuart Le Noury removed over a minute from his previous best 5 mile time to secure an easy win over Phil Lockwood. In wet and windy conditions he was on his own from the start. He passed the mile point in just under eight minutes, slowing down to pass three miles in 24.55. At this point he held a minutes advantage over Lockwood which stretched further in the final two miles. Le Noury crossed the line in 42.00, with Lockwood finishing in 44.13.
Rose Druckes was first woman to finish in just under one hour for the second time in a month. Rose has made a recent return to racewalking and is pictured back in the days when she recorded 51.43 for the distance.
The next walk is the final event in the Bob Wright Handicap Series. Assuming all walk, in the Series where two walks can be discarded from the seven, a close finish can be expected with any one from around six walkers still in with a chance of taking the Bob Wright Trophy. The walk starts at 9.30 am, over one mile, at Footes Lane. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
