Philadelphia Cup One Mile road walk

1 mile handicap road walk at Les Amarreurs, Guernsey
 
Philadelphia walk win for Jayne (no 41) and Carol (no 4)
 
Jayne Le Noury and Carol Bates` combined handicap times for the one mile handicap walk were six seconds too fast for the second placed team of Kevin Le Noury and Mick Le Sauvage. Finishing in 4th and 5th places in the race, Jayne came home in her best time for a while with 10.29, whilst Carol recorded a new personal best time of 10.33. First walker over the line was Kevin Le Noury, with a good walk and a rare win. He was four seconds ahead of Dave Dorey. The fastest walkers of the day, Phil Lockwood and Stuart Le Noury found themselves drawn in the same team. Both were down on their expected times with Stuart home in 7.25 and Phil in 7.29.
The next walk is on Sunday April 17th over 7 miles. The course is from Albecq to North Side starting at 9.30 am. The winner will take home the Bedell Cristin sponsored Chilcott Cup. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
Past timekeeper and judge, Clarence Le Heron, active in the 1970`s passed away this week in his 93rd year. He will be remembered by the older members of the club, who competed in Guernsey when his son Andy Le Heron was racing at his best.
