The first two walkers across the line in the 3 kilometres handicap road walk, Kay Coulson and Rose Druckes, made light work in taking home the Graham Mann Team Trophy, decided on by adding together each walkers watch time. Finishing in first place in 26.12 Kay Coulson led the field home, finishing five seconds ahead of Rose Druckes. Third across the line was Alan Roger a further eleven seconds behind.  Gaynor Benoist was competing in her first race walk and finished in 26.31.Last to start and last to finish was Stuart Le Noury who had the consolation of recording the fastest actual time of the day in 14.55. The Graham Mann trophy was first walked for in 1968 and is held annually in memory of the clubs late treasurer Graham Mann.
The next walk is on Friday May 13th at Les Amarreurs at 6.30 pm. The race is the fourth in the Yorkshire Guernsey Championships over a distance of 2 kilometres. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
