New best times in 20 kms road walk
Stuart Le Noury continued his good form with a near five minute personal best time in the Yorkshire Guernsey Sarnia Walking Club Championships over 20 kilometres. He crossed the line in 1.53.28, well ahead of second man home Phil Lockwood. Le Noury set off quick in the hot conditions on the eight lap course around the area near Vale Castle. He passed the half way point in 53.53 before losing ground in the latter half. Lockwood set off more conservatively, reaching half way in 59.08, speeding up by a few seconds in the second half. Past Champion Rob Elliott was third in 2.13.33. He was happy to just get round with no injury problems this time. Kevin Le Noury was next home in 2.26.07, with Dave Dorey in fifth place in 2.38.19.
Mother Jayne Le Noury can show the most walkers a thing or too with regards to pace judgement as she recorded 5 kilometre split times of 36.45, 36.55, 36.52 and 36.59, on her way to a new personal best time of 2.27.31. This surpasses her previous best time set sixteen years ago.
Kay Coulson opted to race only 15 kms which she did in just over 2 hours.
The next race is on Friday 15th July at Footes Lane at 6.30 pm. The distance will be 1 mile. This race is an addition to the clubs fixture list. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865.
