Sixth Hill win for Stuart Le Noury

Stuart Le Noury (left in previous climb) claimed his sixth consecutive Archivist Le Val des Terres Hill Climb win and the Rob Waterman Shield with a new personal best time of 4.37. An improvement of six seconds, saw him well ahead of second and third walkers Terry Bates and Phil Lockwood, whose positions were decided when the recorded times went down to tenths of a second.
Walkers are set off at two minute intervals for a true race against the clock. Bates also walked to a new Guernsey Age Best time, beating that of the late Cyril Robins whose best has stood since 1968.
Fourth man home Kevin Le Noury recorded his best time for five years, beating Hill Record holder Rob Elliott for the second year. Jayne Le Noury finished as the fastest lady in 6.41, twelve seconds quicker than Carol Bates who had to settle for second place and a new personal best time. Rose Druckes, competing for the Archivist SWC Ladies Hill Climb Shield, was the third lady home.
The next walk is on Sunday December 18th at 9.30 am. The distance is 3 miles starting from Lancresse (old Lodge) and finishing at Bulwer Avenue. Details from Jayne Le Noury, tel 246865. (pictured right with Ladies Shield)
