Bob Wright Handicap Series Race Two
3 kilometres road walk
Les Amarreurs, Vale, Guernsey
Allan Harris (left during previous 3kms walk) scored a well deserved win in the second race of the Bob Wright Handicap series, when he crossed the line eight seconds up on Jane Rowlinson in the handicapped 3 kilometres road walk. He now has an early lead after the two races in the Series after scoring a first and second place. Jamie Marsh is a point behind with Phil Lockwood in third.  
He removed almost a minute from his previous best time set in late August recording an actual time of 21.23. Jane Rowlinson in her first race of the year found the walk hard going but kept newcomer Jamie Marsh at bay by twenty seconds. Another newcomer, Harriet Payne, in her first race claimed 5th place in a time of 23.47.
Towards the back of the field Stuart Le Noury recorded the fastest time of the day with 14.53 ahead of Phil Lockwood`s 15.20.
The next race is on Sunday October 21st at Les Amarreurs at 9.30 am. The event is the Peter Kendal Pairs race over a distance of 3 kilometres. Details from Jayne Le Noury at As mentioned in an earlier post Jamie Marsh was a leading Guernsey runner back in the 1980`s. He ran in the 1986 Commonwealth Games over 5,000 and 10,000 metres. His 5,000 metres run can be seen on youtube here. He is race number 422.
