Kay Coulson, the first walker away in the Sarnia Walking Clubs 3,000 metres handicap race, held on to cross the line first in the 5th race of the Bob Wight Series. Second place Jane Rowlinson, finishing only a few seconds behind got close to her own personal best time as she got the better of third walker home Dave Dorey by a few strides.
A good day for the handicapper saw the first six finish within 17 seconds of each other.
Mick Le Sauvage improved on his own age best time in 4th place. Fastest walker of day was Stuart Le Noury finishing in 14.55.
With two races to go in the Series and taking the two discarded results all walkers have into account, the title is still wide open, featuring Allan Harris, Jamie Marsh, Jane Rowlinson and Kevin Le Noury with the best chances of winning.
The next walk is on Sunday January 20th at North Side, St Sampsons. The distance is 20 kilometres over 8 laps with the option of doing either 10 or 5 kilometres. Start time for all is at 9.00 am. Details from Jayne Le Noury,
