Close finish for leading two
Karen Farman held on by less than a second to snatch victory in the fourth race of the Bob Wright Handicap Series. She held off a fast finishing Stuart Le Noury who had started the race 4 minutes and 45 seconds after the winner. Getting into a good race walking mode, Karen recorded a personal best time as did second placed Le Noury, who also had the fastest actual time of the day.
gordon headThere was a gap of thirty seconds before third walker Mick Le Sauvage finished, closely followed by Dave Dorey. Rob Elliott got the better of Jayne Le Noury in the final metres to claim 5th place, whilst Gordon Mercier in only his second walk held on to deny Phil Lockwood by a second. Gordon Mercier (pictured in 1980`s) run) being better known as a runner with the GIAAC going back many years. Kay Coulson and Kevin Le Noury took the final two positions.
Karen Farman was the quickest of the women with an actual time of 13.49, ahead of Jayne Le Noury at 13.58.
After four events in the seven race series Mick Le Sauvage has a good lead over Phil Lockwood in second and Jayne Le Noury in third. The next walk is on Sunday December 29th over 5 kilometres at Les Amarreurs at 9.30 am. Details from Jayne Le Noury
