Bob Wright Handicap Series Race 5
10 kilometres road walk
Pleinmont to Grandes Rocques
Late win for Kevin Le Noury
Kevin Le Noury was first across the line in the fifth race in the Bob Wright Handicap Series over 10 kilometres. He overtook the series leader Mick Le Sauvage in the final closing metres of the race from Pleinmont to Grandes Rocques to finish seven seconds ahead. One of the best walks of the day was by third man over the line Stuart Le Noury, who made the most of the favourable conditions to finish with an actual time of 50.26, only 15 seconds slower than his best ever.
After finishing behind brother Jason in the last few races, he turned things around with Jason, who started the race a minute behind never closing the gap. Despite not closing and walking a lonely race at the back of the field Jasons actual time of 51.27 was his best for a few years.
A close fight for fourth place was won by leading woman Jayne Le Noury from Peter Beckerleg. Peter broke his best time by 23 seconds. A good walk by Phil Lockwood gave him sixth place with an actual time of 58.39, closely followed by Rob Elliott who just scraped under the hour with an actual time of 59.59.
Karen Farman walked another good race with an actual time of 75.59 to bring home the field.
The next race is on Sunday January 26th at Footes Lane at 9.30 am. It is the 6th race in the Bob Wright Handicap Series over a distance of 3,000 metres. Details from Jayne Le Noury at
