Channel Island Ceramics Chilcott Cup

7 miles road walk

Albecq to North Side, Guernsey

FullSizeRenderPersonal Best for Winner

Stuart Le Noury raced to a new personal best time in the Channel Island Ceramics 7 miles road walk for the annual Chilcott Cup held in windy conditions from Albecq to North Side. Out on his own from the start he crossed the line in 56.37, taking almost a minute from his previous best time. Rob Elliott took second place in 1.02.38 with Phil Lockwood in third.

First woman across the line was Olga Sinkevica with 1.14.55, finishing close to the fourth man home, Kevin Le Noury who had a good walk taking 3 minutes off his last years performance. Peter Beckerleg. Mick Le Sauvage and Kay Coulson also went much quicker than in the last race, whilst the remaining two walkers Jayne Le Noury and Dave Dorey had a close race with Jayne getting home first at the finish.

On a personal note, I, Rob Elliott had a frustrating race despite partially happy to break his 63 minutes pre race target. Walking well until almost the 4 miles point at 7 mph pace, the leg injury flared again and slowed me down for the next mile which was taken easily at near 10 minutes mile pace, before rallying slightly in the last two miles. One day I will last a race!

The next walk is on Friday April 10th at 6.30 pm. The venue is Footes Lane over a distance of 2 miles for the Eric Waldron Trophy. Further information from Jayne Le Noury lenouryjedburgh@cwgsy.net .
