Sean Pender Trophy

2,000 metres handicap track walk

Osmond Priaulx, Footes Lane, Guernsey

Jason wins the Sean Pender trophy

Jason Le Noury strode home to win the second edition of the Sean Pender trophy in a new personal best time of just outside nine minutes as he moved into first place in the final stages. Second walkers home Marie Macdonald and Mick Le Sauvage both had good walks, with last years winner Marie Macdonald creating a new personal best time by 34 seconds. Both walkers also  improved the Guernsey age best times, already set by themselves.

With these walkers ahead of their predicted performances there was a half minute gap before Phil Lockwood came home, closely followed by the other six walkers.

On a personal note, I , Rob Elliott on being overtaken  by Jason Le Noury with 250 metres, tried to make the effort to keep with him and ended up pulling hamstring again and hobbling home, with a sub 10 minutes on the cards  and the walkers I had passed overtaking me! Next time maybe!

Sean Pender made a visit to Guernsey to present the trophy and t shirts to the second and third to finish. The next walk is on Sunday May 24th at Footes Lane at 8.30 am. The event is an One Hour walk and all welcome to compete. Details from Jayne Le Noury lenouryjedburgh@cwgsy.net
