Roquaine Regatta 3.8 miles handicap road walk

Rocquaine Bay, Guernsey

Tenth win for Dorey

Dave Dorey won the Piette Trophy held in conjunction with the Rocquaine Regatta on a very wet and windy Sunday morning. He crossed the line in first place for the tenth time since the first edition of the handicapped event in 1971. Mick Le Sauvage finished 18 seconds behind for second place, narrowly ahead of third placed Peter Beckerleg.

Junior walker, Alex Sinkevics, walking half the distance of the senior walkers, finished in a time of 20 minutes for the 1.9 miles course held on the coast road at Rocquaine.

Le Sauvage returned the fastest time of the day with his 41.38, three seconds ahead of Beckerleg. Stuart Le Noury retired shortly after the start as he felt the effects of a fall during the race series he was competing in over the previous seven nights.

The next walk is on Sunday August 9th at Les Amarreurs at 9.30 am. It is the 9th race in the Heritage Group Championships. Details from Jayne Le Noury,
