Le Noury increases Championship lead
Stuart Le Noury had an easy win in the Sarnia Walking Clubs latest race in the Heritage Group Championships over a distance of 10 miles. On the point to point course from Pleinmont to Lancresse he shrugged off the wet conditions to cross the line in 1.32.10, well ahead of second man home Kevin Le Noury, after his nearest challenger Phil Lockwood had to pull out around half way with an injury.
A close race in the womens section resulted in a win for Olga Sinkevica in 1.55.24, ahead of Marie Macdonald in 1.57.03. Both raced to new personal best times with Marie knocking over 10 minutes off her last time. Close behind and close to her best was Jayne Le Noury in 1.58.07. She found herself leapfrogged by the two in front in the Guernsey All-time lists.
Alex Sinkevics, in his first race at the distance finished close behind his mother Olga, with experienced walker Mick Le Sauvage just dipping under the 2 hours barrier.
The next race is on Sunday May 29th at Les Amarreurs at 9.00 am. It is the fifth race in the championship series over a distance of 3 kilometres.
