3 miles road walk
Rocquaine Circuit, Guernsey
Stuart wins last race of 2014
It turned out to be an easy win in the end for Stuart Le Noury as he crossed the line in 25.47, some fifty seconds ahead of Rob Elliott, after walking a swift last mile on the downhill section of the hilly course. The course which starts at the Imperial Hotel and takes in a climb through the lanes to Torteval Church, saw Le Noury at the head of the field, tracked some 20 metres down by Elliott, who was having his best walk for some time. The gap stayed the same until almost the 2 mile point where the course drops down to the coast at Rocquaine, from where Elliott, who though strong was caught lacking for speed as Le Noury disappeared into the distance. Elliott, with perhaps the walk of the day removed two and a half minutes off his time set on this course in August. Third place went to Kevin Le Noury in 33 minutes. The leading woman was Marie Macdonald in 34.25, ahead of Jayne Le Noury and newcomer Olga Sinkevicha.
The next walk is on Sunday January 11th over a distance of 10 kilometres, starting at 9.30 am at Quayside, North Side. It is the 5th race in the Bob Wright Handicap Series. Details from Jayne Le Noury lenouryjedburgh@cwgsy.net.
